Anime Festival Asia 11 (AFA11); đây là lần thứ 3 tớ tham dự AFA nhưng chỉ là lần thứ 2 tớ seriously thuê đồ nghề và chụp hình. Chụp hơn 300 tấm sau trong 2 ngày. Tớ hiện vẫn phải convert từ RAW format (what pros use) sang JPEG, nên sẽ mất ít thời gian. Và phải kể thêm là ở chỗ làm đã block sickos nên chỉ có thể post buổi tối.

AFA09 and 10 I've attended and shot quite a lot. Absolutely zero shot of drag queen. This year, however, AFA11 is overrun with drag queens.

Seriously, dudes, you are on the plus sizes too much to look good as a drag queen.

Glamorous and with style but unfortunately your face looks to rough. Beleive it or not, he made it into the finals of Regional Cosplay contest, single category (can't remember if he won anything).


There's only so much an anorexic computer engineering guy can do (ZUN). The majority of Touhou is by fans. But certainly some part of it is highly undesirable.


Honestly, this one is not bad. Maybe a very convincing shota instead.

That pic above poses so many questions:

a) The green-haired ... person dressing up as Miku up there is a dude. I'm sure, because I was trying to get a good shot for 5 mins admits a shoulder-to-shoulder crowd. In the end, I was separated from him and couldn't get a good shot.

b) that old lady looking at my cam follows that dude around. Judging from the age of both, it was most probably his mom.

c) why the hell do a guy drag him mom along to the nerdiest convention around? and

d) how the fuck that lady allow his son to drag?

I got so many questions.

They were exchanging name cards. Unless that old man is a professional model photographer (which I don;t think he is: I had more kit than him. He only had like a camera body and a kit lens. I had 2 lens, 1 body and 1 flash) who was scouting for models that's one helluva creepy-ass act. Yeah I saw him exchanging with one more cosplayer.

Rin Tosaka, etu? Anyway, this ... loli is a bit peculiar. Due to her short statue she frequently stood up to take a shot, which was kinda a bad move considering how incredibly short the skirt is in the costume. To add aspartame into honey, when she sit back down, she did not pay attention and the skirt was hiked up to her waist, revealing a full blown white pantsu. TWICE (or THRICE?).

And did I take any pantsu shot? Sorry fellow sickos but no. For four reasons. First, my camera then was fitted with a 70-200 mm lens which is good for shooting people from about 3 metres away; she was sitting right in front of me. Second, the shutter and aperture was set to take stage pictures with stage lights. Third, the flash was attached but set at near maximum power for stage shots. And fourth, I am not a degenerate fuck who take pantsu pictures of lolis.

But I did get two or three very sweet eye candies.

This guy played Joshua Graham or the Burned Man in Fallout New Vegas Honest Hearts, one of the biggest badass in any video game evar (a badass Mormon missionary no less). However, the guy played him didn't gave off that aura. And he was a dork who don't know what to do when I told him to "pull back the slide" (which after some explaining, realize what he should do)

Warning: probably not a loli. I sat next to a university girl student who looked exactly like a loli: she could stand on a freaking chair (average height) and is still shorter than me (1.74m). Also, a bit more foul-mouthed.

Yep, the blonde IS a dude. Like I said drag queens are overunning AFA. They even made it to the regional cosplay championship. They didn't remember they won anything though. But for a team with a drag queen to made it that far; it's pretty impressive.

Đối với mấy ảnh kiểu này, sao không dùng máy compact, hoặc để luôn ảnh dạng JPG cho tiện?

Đám figures trông đẹp phết. Mà cái kiếm của Dark Saber trông như chổi xể ấy. Chiêu ấy hình như là Vortigen thì phải.
Trước cũng tính mua 1 con predator, nhưng hơi đắt (tầm 300$). Sau này có tiền chắc cũng phải kiếm 1 con.

Cậu dùng máy DSLR à?
Đối với mấy ảnh kiểu này, sao không dùng máy compact, hoặc để luôn ảnh dạng JPG cho tiện?

Lý do tớ dùng RAW là vì tuy file size khá lớn, RAW cho phép chỉnh contrast, saturation, brightness và white balance dễ dàng hơn RẤT NHIỀU so với khi dùng JPEG + Photoshop.

Tớ không dùng compact vì để chụp được thế này tớ phải dùng flash rời mới có thể đảm bảo ánh sáng và khả năng điều khiển flash. Bọn cosplayer thì dress-up và make-up rất pro nhưng đứng thì "quay lưng về phía mặt trời": chụp ngược sáng. Cực khó chụp nếu không có flash mạnh. Trong 3 lầm tớ đi, 2 lần tớ dùng flash rời chụp rất tốt. 1 lần không dùng flash rời mà dùng flash có sẵn ---> crap results.

Chụp trong nhà với shutter >1/60s tớ phải dùng ISO 800 đến 1600. Máy compact để ISO cao hơn 400 rất noisy.

Chụp stage thì khỏi nói. Ống kính 200 mm đào đâu ra?

Dĩ nhiên là máy DSLR tốt hơn rồi.
Kể ra cậu cũng công phu nhỉ.
Nếu gặp tớ, với những thứ gì quan trọng thì tớ mới dùng máy tốt (đặc biệt là phong cảnh), còn đối với mấy loại ảnh kiểu hội chợ đông đông như thế này thì cứ compact cho nhanh.
Với mấy cái máy cùi cùi, nhiều khi rùa rùa chỉnh bậy cũng chộp được ảnh nét phết.
Ngày xưa vác cái máy ảnh tự động (loại chụp phim) đi chơi sau khi bão, gặp cảnh cái cần cẩu tháp đổ vào nhà dân, đứng cách đấy cả trăm mét, chỉnh zoom cũng chộp được 1 đống ảnh chất lượng, lại không bị ai ngăn cản.
