Immortals (2011): 1 word, awesome the story is not so deep, the plot is predictable, the characters are not interesting, but the action is holy shit yeah Zeus literally shit this movie out of his ass
i normally don't like gore, but i love it if done right. and Immortals is a bloody feast to the eyes. i'd say this one is better than 300, but it was 6 years ago and i don't remember anything about that movie at all.
Henry Cavill (played Theseus) is pretty damn handsome for the role, and i believe he's gonna play Superman well in 2013's Man of Steel, at least with his body
Luke Evans as Zeus is also pretty good, the other gods are cool too, but they have very little of screentime
Mickey Rourke as the villain, now that's new it's not like he's playing the good guys all the time. His acting is the same in Iron Man 2 and The Expendables, which is intimidating but not actually scary. come to think of it, lately when i think of the stereotype for a villain, i always picture Rourke and Ron Perlman weird
Freida Pinto: someone said she's hot and beautiful, not me of course after Slumdog, she's making a move to Hollywood pretty fast
well, just ignore every talking scenes, focus on the actions and you'll have a good time

Sherlock Holmes 2: A Game of Shadows: Vừa coi cái này ngoài rạp xong. Cảm nhận overall:

- Khoản vụ án của phần 2 này tớ đánh giá cao hơn phần 1. Thứ nhất tớ chưa bao giờ cảm thấy cái trò xài xảo thuật để giả làm black magic, lừa mị mấy lão già nghị viện của thằng Blackwood ở p.1 là hay, if anything it's a bit lame. Thứ hai p. 2 này có cái âm mưu của thằng Moriarty vĩ mô, thực tế hơn nhiều, xem ko còn thấy nhảm hay phét nữa. Đã thế phần này các nv được đi du lịch, đi hết London lại đến Paris lại đến Đức rồi hạ cánh ở Thụy Sĩ, rất hòanh tráng (nhất là ở Thụy Sĩ), hơn hẳn p.1 chỉ quanh đi quẩn lại ở cái ổ chuột London.

- So với p.1 thì phần phá án của chú Holmes ở p.2 hơi bị ít, nhưng vẫn giữ được những thế mạnh ở p.1: chekhov's gun, chekhov's gunman tá lả, xem camera lướt qua cái đồ vật nào hơi lâu lâu chút là biết ngay về sau cái đó sẽ có chỗ xài tới, mấy thủ thuật cũng thông minh, kĩ năng suy luận & quan sát của Holmes thì vẫn imba làm người xem thấy khoái Cái ending thì đặc biệt ngon, làm rất được, xúc động (won't spoil you, go watch it); đã thế vẫn còn để sequel hook cho phần 3 (btw theo wiki thì bản nháp của phần 3 đang được xây dựng ) Cái đoạn "The End?" ở cuối thì hài, I LOL'ed!

- Tại sao ở p. này chú Holmes lại suy luận ít đi ? Là vì lượng action trở nên nhiều hơn, nhiều tới mức tối đa. Mấy kĩ thuật ưa thích của đạo diễn ở p.1 được vận dụng hết công suất, nhất là mấy cảnh quay nhanh với quay chậm (phần này có đoạn truy đuổi trong rừng rất đẹp, ngoài ra đoạn đánh lộn trên tàu hỏa cũng hay), so với p.1 thì action chất hơn nhiều bậc. Cơ mà cũng có cái dở, đấy là phim lạm dụng việc điều chỉnh tốc độ quay hơi bị quá đáng, đan xen vào mấy cảnh quay thường quá nhiều, đâm ra lên màn ảnh lớn khó theo dõi (tớ định đi xem lại lần 2 cũng vì lý do này). Nhưng chỉ với riêng khoản action tớ đã chấm p.2 >> p.1.

- Về khoản diễn viên thì 2 chú main chính diễn vẫn ăn ý như phần trước, với con mắt nhà nghề của yaoi fangirl thì thậm chí còn ăn ý hơn phần trước (bạn nào lên tvtropes, check thử trang Ho Yay của Sherlock Holmes thì sẽ biết, tớ đọc cái mớ phân tích đấy 1 hồi là nhìn 2 anh bằng con mắt khác ngay ). Nhưng mà nhiều đoạn 2 anh chọc phá nhau bị làm quá nên mất cả hay. Khoản villain thì công nhận khá hơn p.1, Moriarty so với Blackwood đúng là 1 trời 1 vực: rất imba, rất mưu mẹo, dân trùm máu mặt thật sự chứ không như cái thằng hổ giấy Blackwood, và cái hay là tuy cả phim thằng này đã imba lắm rồi, nhưng tới cuối phim nó vẫn lộ ra 1 skill thể hiện sự imba nhất từ đầu phim tới giờ. However nổi không thua gì Moriarty trong phim này là thằng đệ Sebastian Moran, very badass, very crazy; anytime he picks up his gun, you know it's bad news. Thằng này với Moriarty là 1 cặp giống Holmes và Watson: trung thành với nv bộ não, khả năng và độ nguy hiểm không kém Moriarty là bao, và cũng có hint bromance với Moriarty.

Ở tuyến nv thì p.2 lại kém hơn p.1 ở khoản nv phụ: Irene (Rachel) bị thay thế bằng 1 con gypsy do Noomi Rapace đóng. Ai xem Girl with a Dragon Tattoo bản Thụy Điển chắc biết bà này, she's Lisbeth Salander; và bà này diễn vai cô gypsy cũng giống kiểu diễn Lisbeth: lì lì, thi thoảng lại lộ ra tí cá tính hổ báo ở mấy cảnh nốc rượu, uýnh nhau, và thế là hết. Vai Irene ở p.1 được nhiều đất diễn, xinh và cá tính bao nhiêu thì vai Simza mờ nhạt, dễ quên bấy nhiêu, và tất nhiên Noomi Rapace không thể đọ lại với Rachel McAdams về mặt nhan sắc. Cả phim bà này bám theo 2 anh nv chính chỉ để cho có nữ trong câu chuyện, chả góp sức được gì nhiều. Nv Mycroft Holmes cũng vậy, rất ít đất diễn, cái khả năng suy luận còn imba hơn Holmes được dùng trong chưa đến 3 mins (trong cảnh ông này xuất hiện), còn ở phần còn lại thì chỉ góp vai trò giúp sức cho kế hoạch của Holmes. Cả 2 nv này cuối cùng còn không imba bằng... bà vợ (rất đẹp) của Watson, tớ cảm thấy lẽ ra nên cho cô này thay Irene: cũng xinh, cũng đầu óc, chỉ thua Irene ở điểm là không có kĩ năng phòng vệ chứ qua 2 phần tớ thấy cô này xông xáo, hữu ích không kém Irene.

Khốn nạn nhất trong cả cái phim này là

Irene bị thằng Moriarty giết, fuck no! I love McAdams Cả phim tớ cứ trông chờ Irene xuất hiện lại, tới cuối phim tớ phải chấp nhận sự thật là em đã tiêu.

- P.2 có cái gì thua kém p.1 ? Thứ nhất là tuyến nv phụ yếu, ở trên đã nói rồi. Thứ hai là mấy đoạn hài hước thì thua p.1, mấy câu đá xoáy thông minh hình như ít đi (tớ nói hình như vì có thể tại sub của rạp không tốt, tại tớ chỉ đọc sub + xem hình chứ cũng chỉ để ý qua loa lời thoại English của nv), mấy cảnh châm chọc của 2 anh main thì như đã nói, hơi kéo dài đâm ra làm lỡ mất nhịp comedy. Thứ ba là khoản soundtrack không được chất bằng p.1, nhiều bài là remix lại từ soundtrack của p.1 (still kickass, mind you), chỉ có mấy đoạn action căng thẳng là có mấy bài mới nghe ngon. Bài ED của phần này không hay bằng bài The Rocky road to Dublin của p.1. Thứ tư là mấy cảnh suy luận trong óc rất imba của Holmes xem trên màn ảnh lớn khó theo dõi hơn là xem trên TV hay laptop ở nhà vì quay quá nhanh, ko kịp để ý.

maybe i'm so innocent (or stupid just like 1 character in this movie), but i don't see HCM City as bullshit as this movie clearly shows us một vài phim khác như trai nhảy, gái nhảy gì đó cũng thế. Nếu đây quả thực là bộ mặt thật của HCM thì ... man, i'm in deep shit
about the movie, if you just ignore the unrealistic stuff, this movie is actually ok to watch. the character is good, although predictable. i did feel sorry for the good guys and also hate the bad guys. Lương Mạnh Hải did well as always, but he played the gay role so many times that he adds nothing new to the character.

Cô dâu đại chiến: the girls' acting is laughable, the effects are ridiculously bad, the plot is unoriginal, but out of 5 brides in this movie, 3 are hot, 2 of these 3 have big boobs, that's 66.666%, people if my life was that awesome, i'd be married and have 10 kids by now
Huy Khánh is great, he plays the pimp so well but he talked to the camera a lot and it felt like he was in a play, not a movie

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]: This one came better than I expected, these days Ben Stiller movie ain't no good anymore, this one is fairly entertaining, Ben isn't that good though. The great thing about it is the heist thing, I don't think the idea is original but I haven't seen anything quite like it, which is interesting. I also like the characters, Mr Shaw, Odessa, agent Denham,...Too bad that there is a bunch of plot holes, which is a shame, also they like to turn the table of some characters, make it too convenient. Anyway, still an enjoyable movie IMO.

Talk about the flaw first, the movie is long, but not way too long, sure it drags on the story a bit too much, some parts are purely fanservice. But then, often they focus a lot in characters, and thanks god the characters are much better now, Edward and Jacob are more reasonable, they actually suppress the grudge for each others and agree to work together. The special effects on Bella are also look great, and I'm glad they didn't tone down the gore when she gave birth. Vampire should be more disturbing in content, not sparkling!!! So this is rather positive IMO. But then of course, there are some stupid, laughable moments, well with Twilight, who would not expect that! In the end, rather than something that I actually like, I would say I like it better than those previous movie, quite enjoyable IMO, look forward to Part 2 xD


[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]: Biography + Leonardo DiCaprio, reminds me of Aviator, which I really like. This one is directed by the great Clint Eastwood, so well, interesting enough for me to check it out. It's a long movie, over 2 hours, there is nothing much to say about the story really, you have to see it for yourself, it's about a man at the Bureau which we know as FBI nowadays from what I understand, or something similar. For me, like Aviator, I also like this one a lot, the main character that Leo plays isn't quite someone remarkable, but he has depth, an importantly, *flaws*, yes flaws, it's Leo's performance again that make the character impressive IMO.

Other characters are also terrific, except Tolson, which played by Armie Hammer (the twin in The Social Network), he definitely isn't bad, but in some occasions in J. Edgar, his expressions/behavior is a bit awkward, and there is a particular scene where he a bit overreacts. What make it worse is the make-up (into an older person), Edgar (Leo) looks fairly good, Gandy (Naomi Watts) looks the most natural, but Tolson is a bit overdone IMO, though its not terrible but you know that "It's fake dude!", and one more thing, he shakes too much!! Well, having said that, that doesn't mean that I hate Tolson, in fact I really like him.

This movie of course has some flaws, the script could be more interesting, there *are* some WTF moments btw, but overall, I think it is an excellent movie. I have seen a lot of conflict opinions on this movie, some bashes, some praises, some in neutral, as for me, I love it.


[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]: directed by a well respected Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar, I watched some of his movies but never really like anything. At first I didn't know the director, I only checked it out later on and was quite surprised.

The story starts out quite unusual to leave room for mystery, which was well done, and as the story goes on, more and more disturbing stuff revealed. My initial impression was "Huh, no way that's gonna happen", later on, "Nah, not a chance", then "Holy cow...", put some thoughts, "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU". Basically, I would say that my boner was breaking, not sure about you guys, maybe I'm sensitive but it's surely fucking disturbing and shocking! In the end, I can't say that the experience this movie gave me is pleasant, but it was very interesting and the ending was touching. Well, it has been a long time since a watch a good Antonio Banderas movie

and i think we should stop reviewing boring movies, and just put the only 1 reason you should watch it - "hot chick" - instead. for example:
- Scream 4: hot chicks getting kill brutally.
- Wild Things: hot chicks doing lesbian stuff. the plot is kinda ok, but doesn't matter, here comes some boobies
- Puss in Boots: hot animated cat voiced by a not so hot chick, Salma Hayek. but still hot
and about Breaking Dawn, i know, right ? fuking masterpiece right there. their acting is boring as fuck, i can't remember how many reviews i've read and seen that mention Kristen Stewart stone cold acting, can't even smile on her wedding. Also, no one forgot how unnecessary it is for Jacob to take of his shirt. but that's why it's awesome
